HSU Celebrates Olympian Carolena Carstens!

Our very own Carolena Carstens particpated in the 2012 London Olympics representing Panama! Congratulations for a job well done!!! Way to go Carolena!!!! HSU loves and supports you!!!

Carolena Jean Carstens Salceda, 16 years old, is currently ranked #14 in the WORLD in THE OLYMPIC DIVISION OF -49 Kilos and ranked #3 in the Pan-American region. Ranked #11 out of 16 athletes who competed in London in her division.

She was the only TAEKWONDO athlete to represent PANAMA in the London Olympic Games 2012, one among 5 total Panamanian athletes and only female.

She is the FIRST athlete from PANAMA from this sport EVER to go to any Olympic Games.

She is the second YOUNGEST athlete to represent PANAMA at any Olympic Games.

She was the Youngest Taekwondo athlete to participate at the 2011Taekwondo World Olympic Qualifier in Baku, Azerbaijan!

Carolena's success at the London Olympics made headlines and press. She is one to watch out for at the 2016 Olympics. Look out world!
