Registration Process:

Step One:

First look at Class Descriptions to determine which classes your child might be interested in. You may take as few or as many classes as you like.

Step Two:

Then, look at our schedule for Tuesday and Thursday as well as our Calendar to make sure that our classes and dates work within your schedule.

Step Three:

Please review this website carefully. It is important that you understand the policies, procedures, fees and commitment before you seriously consider joining our program.  

Step Four:

You can then contact us at admin@homeschooluniversity.org  to see if we have availability in the classes you are considering. 

Step Five:

Finally, please prayerfully consider if Home School University is a good fit for your family.

Once you have followed the above process, you will need to complete the below forms in a timely fashion. We will enter students on a first-come first-serve basis. We will not hold any classes without a registration fee. Registration fees are non-refundable.

Paperwork Needed

Once you have decided that HSU might be a good fit for your family, please submit the following forms:

Registration (appropriate to your child's grade)

• Family Information Form

HSU will then contact you regarding arranging a New Family Interview.

Upon acceptance we will need the following forms completed:

• Student Handbook- Please read and review carefully with your child and return attachment signed. Being updated for 2010/2011
• New Family Contract - (for families entering in 08/09 school year)
• Returning Family Contract - (for families who were enrolled in 2009/10 school year)
• Medical and Emergency Release Form and Liability Waiver
• Code of Conduct

Your students schedule can be finalized at the Mandatory Parent Orientation Meeting. You will then receive an invoice for classes and fees. If a class that you registered for is full or low-enrollment, you will be notified.  We require a minimum of 8-10 students per class unless other indicated. Teacher and HSU reserves the righ to cancel any class due to low enrollment.

The above forms may be mailed to the address on the registration forms. Please have forms arrive prior to the Mandatory Parent Meetings scheduled for August at Community Fellowship. Parents are required to attend one of these meetings.

Policies and Partnership:

Parents Responsibilities:

• Attending one of the Mandatory Parent Meeting.
• Ensuring that assigned work is completed on time, following the syllabus in order to track what is going on in class, and communicating with your student and teachers. We cannot overemphasize this!
• Fulfill service requirements.
• Follow Parent Code of Conduct

Students Responsibilities:

• Follow Student Code of Conduct. 
• 4th grade and up will be assigned mandatory set-up and take-down jobs.
• Students will have the opportunity to participate in clubs and Student-led committees.

 Volunteer Requirements:

• Parents will be required to serve 10 hours each year per enrolled student on campus, with a maximum of 25 hours per family.
• Serve on 2 Committees and fulfill duties outlined. Please review committees and email us with your preferences. 
• New families must attend an informal orientation interview (to be scheduled once we receive registration information. HSU will inform you as to whether your family is formally accepted.

Fees:

• Fees...Tuition for most elementary and some middle school classes is $150 per class hour, plus material fees ($10-$40 per class); any required textbooks.
• Tuition for most middle school and high school classes is $150 per class hour, plus material fees & any required textbooks.
• Registration fee is $55 per student for the year ($110 maximum per family per year).
• After April 29th registration fee per student will increase to $70 per student for the year ($140 maximum per family per year).
• All registration fees are non-refundable.
• Facility fees are $35 per class, with a maximum family outlay of $350 per year facility fees include facility rental, insurance coverage for our group and paying our part-time supervisors.
• Registration & facility fees can be broken into two installments. 1st installment due in September, 2nd installment due in January.
• Tuition can be broken into two, four or eight installments over the course of the school year (we do this for you on your statement). The first tuition payment to each teacher will include half the material fees for his/her class.
• Our goal is to keep our program affordable. You can get an idea of what our fees will be by downloading this Tuition and Fees Estimate Worksheet.
• Tuition and material fees are refundable during the 1st week of class on a limited basis. Once the 2nd week of class has begun, 50% of tuition and material fees can be refunded. After the 2nd week of class, we cannot issue refunds.
• Parents are asked to write all installment checks at the parents meeting and post-date them for easy deposit.
